About the Designer
Ramie attended California School of Garden Design in Auburn, California. Upon receiving a certificate for Advanced Landscape Design, she found herself designing gardens in the hot and dry inland valley climate of Redlands, California. Currently residing in Carmel, Ramie has embraced the challenges that designing gardens puts forth in the most recent landscape vernacular of sustainability. She respects the Mediterranean climate she finds herself in and uses native plants from geographical areas which share similar growing conditions to the Mediterranean basin such as South Africa, Australia, and California.
Ramie is a Landscape Designer, licensed California Landscape Contractor, Master Gardener and Garden Consultant. She enjoys teaching and sharing her knowledge with home owners, Master Gardeners and children. Ramie was the coordinator of Mariposa Elementary School Garden in Redlands, California for 5 years and started a weekly Student Garden Club, encouraging students to participate in campus beautification and maintenance. She has led many classroom activities for elementary students and utilized garden lessons to cross the curriculums in science, math, language arts, history and art.
Ramie has participated in seminars for Landscape Designers, Master Gardeners and students of University of Redlands speaking on the value of using Mediterranean natives in California Gardens.
